Sometimes watching/following video tutorials on vimeo/youtube can be tricky because the full screen mod switches back to normal mod if you click outside of the video area. Here is cool trick on youtube to prevent this.

Hello, my name is Gyorfi Szilard, I’m the owner of Bluefx.net. In this tutorial, I will show you how to view videos, especially tutorials, that are playing on YouTube. What is the problem I’m faced with every time I watch a video tutorial on Vimeo? Let’s say I want to watch this video. It previews nicely, but to easily follow along, I would need to switch it to fullscreen. I have it in fullscreen; let’s say I want to do the same thing he does in After Effects. I click, and it goes back to normal resolution. This can be annoying at times.

Why I prefer YouTube: You can see, on my blog, that I have all my tutorials on YouTube. You can view it like this. Let’s say you’d like to make it fullscreen, like this, and if I click again, then it jumps back. Here’s the workaround: double-click on the video, and the YouTube page automatically opens. YouTube has added a new feature, this little button. You can watch the video in a new window, so I put it to HD, and here’s the cool part – you can make the video larger! And you can follow along. Now it’s no problem if I click outside the video, and the actual screen won’t get smaller. I have set up two monitors in the first part here, and you can see that I can put it to fullscreen, and now the first video is showing up, and here is a part of my second monitor.

I hope this was helpful! See you next time.
