After Effects Render Setup For Youtube - Part1

After Effects Render Setup For Youtube - Part1

Do you know what the best After Effects render settings for Youtube are? Let me show you an EASY setup that will not only make your videos look always sharp, but also the audio will never go out of sync once it’s uploaded to Youtube.

On top of this, the file size will be 9 times smaller than a regular quicktime format.

This way you won’t waste time uploading or sending huge video files. Please keep in mind that the settings I’m going to show you apply to all versions of After Effects, with the exception of Adobe After Effects CC, which uses a different render method and engine. We’ll discuss that in the next tutorial… So you’ve purchased a template and edit it, and now you’re ready to render it out. With so many codecs and settings to choose from, it’s always a hassle to make a good technical decision. **Okay, so let’s prepare our project for rendering:**by the way, this is the “Premium Business” template from the bluefx.net store. Select “Composition – Add to render queue”. Click next to the output module and choose “Format – H264”, then click on “Format Options”, select “Profile – High”, “Level – 5.1”, “Bitrate encoding – VBR”, which means “variable bit rate”, and set the target bitrate to 8 and the maximum bitrate to 10. Hit “OK”, and if your project also has audio, don’t forget to check the audio output box as well. Finally click next to “Output” to set up your file name and destination, and you’re ready to render. Okay, so here’s our final full HD render – only 52 MB, and here’s another render of the same project but in a standard quicktime MOV format, which is 471 MB. So, our MP4 video is 9 times smaller than the MOV video, without compromising the quality, and the image is sharp. We’ll also be able up upload the file much faster to Youtube or any other video sharing website. Thank you for watching, don’t forget to check out the next tutorials where we’ll discuss how to render in After Effects CC and we’ll also take a look at automating the rendering operation by creating a render preset.
