ChatGPT Agent finds your dream home automatically
ChatGPT 5.1 quietly shipped an Agent Mode that feels like the first time AI actually does work for you instead of with you. It can browse, click, fill forms, return at intervals, and notify you when something changes. To test it, I built a real-world example — an agent that watches Zillow listings in my target area and pings me the second a property drops in price.
What is Agent Mode?
Agent Mode is a long-running task runner. You give ChatGPT a goal, the URL or app to work in, and a schedule. It logs in, navigates, scrapes, compares against the previous state, and sends you the diff. Think of it as a junior intern that doesn't sleep, doesn't bill hourly, and never forgets to refresh the page.
Pricing & access
Agent Mode is rolling out across paid tiers with usage limits. Free accounts get a taste; the meaningful runs sit on Plus and above. Open your model picker and look for Agent — if it's not there yet, you're still in the queue.
Building the dream home finder
The prompt was deliberately specific: target city, price ceiling, minimum bedrooms, must-have features, the URL of the Zillow filtered view, and a check interval of every six hours. I told it to keep a memory of properties it's already seen and only notify me on price drops or new listings.
It opened the page, parsed the cards, stored the state, and started watching. No code, no Zapier, no scraper to maintain.
Watching the agent work in real time
The most striking thing isn't the result — it's the visibility. You can watch the agent click, scroll, type, and reason about what it's seeing. When a price drop happened on the second run, the agent compared the snapshot, flagged the delta, and dropped a notification with the listing link.
This is the part everyone underestimates: you finally see what the AI is doing, which means you can debug it like a person, not a black box.
Why this changes automation forever
Most "automation" tools require you to know the integration exists, find the right Zap, configure trigger conditions, test it, and pay per run. Agent Mode collapses that into a sentence. Anything you can describe — invoice tracking, competitor monitoring, lead-list refreshing, pricing watch — can be a one-prompt agent.
The wedge is small now. In six months you'll have a dozen of these running in the background.
Pair it with the AI Media Machine
Agents are the monitoring layer. The creation layer — turning insights into content, ads, and outreach — is what the AI Media Machine does. Agent finds the lead, AIMM creates the video that converts. Try it for $1, or book a free strategy call and we'll wire the whole stack together for you.
